Details

Thanks to a well thought-out floor plan, Watercolour House gives the client wide, open concept living spaces, with a huge roof deck overlooking the city. Inside, we installed all premium materials and features, including granite counters, polished concrete floors, built in speaker systems, motion sensor LED lighting, and Energy Star appliances for that luxury feel.

We built the upper floor using reclaimed glue-laminated (glulam) beams, which span the entire width of the home. We always try to use reclaimed wood where we can because it extends the life of existing materials, reducing the need for fresh timber to be harvested. Aesthetically, reclaimed wood also brings its own unique character to a project. It might be weathered or have historical markings, giving it a sense of beauty and mystery. Financially too, using reclaimed wood for glulam beams can be more cost effective than new timber.
