Parker is a substantial renovation of a classic post-war East Van bungalow, and a validation of the ability to sustainably renovate this type of home long before the trend really gathered pace.

Designed by Kerschbaumer Design, the home achieves the client’s desire for a modern aesthetic, yet still feels of its place in this historic neighbourhood. The home maintains its existing footprint, but we added a second storey, and then built two shafts into the upper floor, allowing natural light to flood the home.
As always, sustainability was a priority. The home features 95% LED lighting, triple glazed windows, an Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) foundation, 12 solar panels, and highly efficient mechanical equipment—helping it become Built Green and Energy Star Certified
Parker won the 2013 Georgie Award for best renovation, valued between $300-$500K.
